Accident at work
It is estimated that in Britain there is said to be over one million accidents at work every year. The vast majority of accidents at work involve injuries to the body requiring hospital treatment.
It is believed that Britain has the one of the safest working environments in the world although not all employers take enough precautions to ensure the wellbeing of their employees and as a result far more accidents at work take place that might otherwise be the case.
Regardless of the type of occupation, it is possible to suffer an injury in the workplace, many injured on building sites, and construction is probably the most dangerous sector in which you can have a workplace injury.
It is also possible to have a work injury in an office environment or a workplace injury in a similar indoor environment.
Most accidents at work occur due to poor safety standards due to employers and negligence.
There are many rules and regulations that should be put in place to ensure the workers safety, thus elevating the risk of accidents in the work place.
Many employers have found it difficult to keep up to date with health and safety regulations that have been introduced over the last 25 years. But the simple fact is the employers are required by law to adhere to health and safety regulations, if they fail to do so an employer will be deemed negligent and can claim for the workplace injury against their employer.
Almost all employers have Employers Liability Insurance which covers them in respect of any work injuries due to the employers and negligence or work injuries due to the negligence of a work colleague.
If you have been injured at work, the chances are that you will have the right to apply for a work accident claim.
