Worker's arm crushed at DIY store depot
A MAN was airlifted to hospital after his arm was crushed by machinery in an accident at a distribution centre in Staffordshire. It happened at Focus DIY Distribution Centre on Bonehill Road, Tamworth, yesterday.
The ambulance crew called to the scene found a 38-year-old man, thought to be an employee, with his arm trapped in a large piece of machinery. The crew administered pain relief, and worked with firefighters to release the man from the machinery.
He suffered serious crush injuries to his arm in the accident at work.
The injured man was then flown by the County Air Ambulance from Staffordshire to Selly Oak Hospital for further treatment.
