Cyclist dies in road crash on island
A female cyclist has died and a male cyclist suffered head and leg injuries following a road traffic accident involving a van on the island of Arran.
The woman, aged 59, was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident which took place on the A841 on Saturday August 30.
A spokesman for Strathclyde Police said it appeared the the van driver lost control of his vehicle and struck the cyclists.
The 67-year-old male cyclist was taken to hospital in Glasgow. His condition is described as stable.
The van driver suffered a minor head injury, and was taken to Arran War Memorial Hospital where he was treated and later discharged.
